Dr. Tanguay is a former NICU mom, board-certified pediatrician with 9 years of experience, and breastfeeding medicine physician with 5 years of experience with greater than 200 hours of lactation education. BabyCare was created to give parents a blueprint for infant care and feeding. The prepared parent makes for a confident parent.

Breastfeeding and Lactation Experience? She’s got it

Dr. Tanguay has over two hundred hours of lactation training over the past 6 years. She also has emergency medicine experience from Akron Children’s Hospital, where she and her colleague and mentor Dr. Anya Kleinman developed a standardized lactation curriculum for Emergency Medicine residents, pediatric residents, and medical students culminating in a poster presentations at Pediatric Academic Society.

She has done the following lactation-specific coursework over the last several years:

-Introduction to the Osteopathic Approach to the Nursing Dyad (October 2024, 40 hours)

-Advanced Techniques in the Osteopathic Approach to the Nursing Dyad (October 2025, 30 hours)

-Multiple Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine CME courses

Dr. Tanguay has incorporated Breastfeeding Medicine into pediatric rotations for third- & fourth-year medical students as an Associate Faculty Member. She presented a Lunch and Learn presentation to a local OB/Gyn office and did a presentation with IABLE under the Building A Breastfeeding Medicine Practice.

Dr. Tanguay is planning on becoming board-certified in Breastfeeding Medicine through NABBLM, the North American Board of Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine upon completion of the Deep Dive curriculum.

Dr. Tanguay is collaborative with other IBCLCs, speech language pathologists, and occupational therapists.
